Knoxville World's Fair Park

The World's Fair Park was originally built to host the 1982 World's Fair.  When the Fair closed, the park became a popular location for special events and shows.  In 2001 the City of Knoxville designated fourteen million dollars to upgrade the site.  It was officially opened on July 4, 2003.  The World's Fair Park is twenty acres complete with walking surfaces, water features, interactive fountains and two large grass lawns used for recreation and special events.

Bisecting the new World's Fair Park, the Clinch Avenue Viaduct carries traffic east and west through the Park.  In the background is the theme structure of the 1982 World's Fair Park, the Sunsphere.

Visitors crowd the Festival Lawn during one of the park's many special events.
