Chairman and CEO of Gulf & Ohio Railways, which owns and operates eight railroads in the Southeastern United States.  Appointed to the PBA Board of Directors by Knox County in March 2000 and has served on the PBA Executive Committee since September 2000.  Founder and Chairman of the Seven Islands Foundation, and the Boathouse Benevolent Society. Member of the Smithsonian Institution National Board of Directors and Board Member and Finance Committee member of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. Chairman of the Legislative Policy Committee of the American Short Line on Regional Railroad Association and a member of its Board & Executive Committee.  Member of the National Transportation Research Center Board.  Has served on the Board of the Thompson Cancer Survival Center in Knoxville.
