Associate Vice President for Research at the University of Tennessee and has served over 26 years in her career at the University of Tennessee.  Appointed to the PBA Board of Directors by Knox County in September 1995, and by City of Knoxville after her county term expired in 2007. Served as Chair April 2000 to January 2003.  Currently serves on the Executive Committee as Vice-Chair.  Current and previous professional organizations/affiliations include member of Coblentz Society and Alternate Councilor for the East Tennessee Section of the American Chemical Society and is a member of the ACS National Budget and Finance Committee.  Previous honors received include the Meggers Award by the Society of Applied Spectroscopy to the outstanding publication of the year in the professional journal and Olympic Torch Bearer as the torch moved to the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
