Scope

A pedestrian/bicycle bridge is proposed to cross the French Broad River at the upstream tip of the area known as the Seven Islands Park. The proposed bridge will cross the French Broad in an area designated for natural preservation. It will touch the tip of the upstream island with an observation area to overlook the chain of islands.

 

Budget

Total Project Budget:  1,645,448

 

Schedule

The project is still in the permitting phase.  Project completion is to be determined.

 

Status

This project is still in the permitting phase. Steps cannot be made to move forward until TVA provides Knox County with their environmental assessment. PBA has been notified by U.S. Fish and Wildlife that a formal consultation is being requested.  U.S. Fish and Wildlife will have up to 130 days to complete the consultation.
